We Found A Home!!!
+ it's not where we expected 👀🏡
Ahhhhhhh…
We have answers to the news we have been waiting MONTHS for:
WE DECIDED WHERE TO ROOT!
WE FOUND A HOME!
It’s been such a journey + I feel so grateful to finally have answers to the question that’s been on our hearts for almost a year + a half at this point. Ever since the fires, we knew it was time to close our Santa Monica chapter. Then began the home search… thinking that we were going to move to Ojai (Read: We Thought We Were Moving To Ojai).
For those of you who have been following our journey, you know what came next: We ended up going on a sabbatical in Hawaii, found out I was pregnant with our third 11 days into the sabbatical, took a trip to Southern CA to tour so many different cities to see if any of them felt like the place to birth our baby, started thinking Hawaii might be the place + started our home search there… then the floods, then getting so so sick, then moving in with my parents in Florida… AND NOW, finally “settling” into a home at 31 weeks pregnant!!
In last week’s post I shared the blessing of moving as an adult, especially while pregnant (Read: If You’ve Been Feeling The Pull To Move… Say YES!). What I *didn’t* talk about was all the challenges that come with moving, especially, in our case, finding the right home. I’m so grateful to be DONE looking at Zillow multiple times a day… for AT LEAST a year. 🤣
This process has been such a rollercoaster, but ultimately, it led us to the perfect home + place for our family in this season of life. Everything still feels surreal, but most of all, it feels so right. 🥹💛
In this post, I’m going to share:
How we knew California was still home
What we decided to compromise on (+ what we didn’t compromise on) + why
How we’re thinking about renting vs buying in this season of life
The #1 thing we prioritized that ultimately decided where we chose to live
What city we’re moving to!!
